Heartwarming Banter Between Kohli and a Windies Player Goes Viral: “Stealing Doubles Since 2012”

On Thursday, Virat Kohli made his 500th appearance for India in an international match against the West Indies and seemed to be in excellent form. The former India captain finished the opening day of play on 87 and reached his 30th half-century in the game’s longest format. On Friday, when play resumes, Kohli will need 13 more runs to get his first Test century away from home since December 2018.

The first day of the Trinidad Test saw an outstanding performance by Kohli. In addition to his loss, he won the admiration of other Windies players, such as keeper-batter Joshua Da Silva. However, there was one time when a voice on the stump mic could be heard stating, “Stealing doubles since 2012.”<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-87066″ src=”×422.png” alt=”” width=”1559″ height=”877″ srcset=”×422.png 750w,×576.png 1024w,×432.png 768w,×220.png 390w,×84.png 150w, 1248w” sizes=”(max-width: 1559px) 100vw, 1559px” />

Virat was at the non-striker’s end when the vice was heard at the beginning of the 73rd over. The latter had just completed the second run with a dive after taking a double off the last ball of the previous over. The sound was audible and even Kohli responded to it as Jadeja took his position and Jomel Warrican prepared to bowl.

Who stated that has split the internet’s users. Some claim that it was Kohli who shouted it, while others attribute it to Joshua Da Silva, the batter’s end. However, Kohli was definitely spotted responding to the voice. So maybe Warrican was the one who stated it.

Resuming the game, Team India captain Rohit Sharma and the rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal laid a good platform for the guests on the first day by putting up a robust partnership of 139 runs for the first wicket. Jaiswal, who scored a magnificent 57, was the first to be removed. Shubman Gill was ordered back to the dressing room after scoring 10 runs, showing that he was unable to regain his previous form. The Indian cricket team was in a grave situation after losing three wickets in short succession.

Later, India was able to reenter the match thanks to a key 106-run combination between Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. It took Kohli 20 balls to make his debut. The 34-year-old’s boundary in the 67th over gave him his 30th Test half-century.

Young India’s opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal referred to Kohli as a legend on the first day of play. “It’s incredible to watch him bat. How should I put it? He is a myth. I’m lucky to get to play with him. He is a great role model for both cricket and life in general. At the press conference, Jaiswal added, “I try to read his thinking.

Ravindra Jadeja was batting on 36 at the time of stumps. The first day of play completed with Team India at 288/4.
