England Star’s Strange Remark During ‘Bazball’ Hype During Ashes 2023: ‘We’re Not Focused on Winning’

England have undoubtedly stirred up a lot of controversy and sparked a heated discussion about how Test cricket should be played in order to appeal to a generation that is being fed a continuous diet of T20 cricket.

They have undoubtedly had a great deal of success thanks to their aggressive style of Test cricket, which they believe is intended to excite the spectators and entails taking many chances and disregarding prudence.

The disadvantages of the approach were made clear during the first few matches of the Ashes 2023, but it also had its benefits, as was seen in Manchester, when England comfortably outplayed Australia until rain forced a draw and denied them the opportunity to tie the series and win the fifth and final Test.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-96381″ src=”×422.png” alt=”” width=”1480″ height=”833″ srcset=”×422.png 750w,×576.png 1024w,×432.png 768w,×220.png 390w,×84.png 150w, 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1480px) 100vw, 1480px” />

Although Australia has a 2-1 advantage in the five-match series and will win the Ashes in 2023, England does not believe they officially lost it.

“They’ve merely kept it; we haven’t yet lost. Another Test match has to be won, according to England batsman Harry Brook.

We would have felt extremely confident entering this game at 2-2, so it’s a pity the rain wrecked it for us. Last week, we were completely in control of the game; thus, I would like to assume that we would have prevailed. Yes, if we succeed this week, it will almost certainly be a moral triumph,” he said.

According to Brook, this team’s goal is to excite and revitalize Test cricket.

We are more concerned with getting people to like watching and revitalizing Test cricket than we are with winning as a team. In the last 12 months, I believe we’ve done a respectable job at it, and it’s been fascinating to see. Playing in it has undoubtedly been thrilling, he remarked.

With runs scored in several forms, Brook is one of the most promising hitters to have come out of England recently. He has undoubtedly been a popular player in the IPL, as Sunrisers Hyderabad paid a staggering Rs 13.25 crore to recruit him.

As the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is said to be paying its players multi-year contracts to prevent them from being seduced by the T20 leagues, Brook claims that playing for his nation has always been his priority.

“I’d want to represent England in cricket. I don’t care about any of the franchise-related things, Brook stated.

The IPL is the only event that provides a clear window for participation, he said, adding that the busy calendar already restricts the tournaments in which a player may participate.

“Of course, it’s a benefit, but my only priority right now is playing cricket for England. Since I’m playing all three forms for England, I honestly don’t feel like I have enough time to play any other franchise games. When you’re available for everything, the IPL is the only one that is really free, so there won’t be much consideration given to it, he added.
